CIVIC ACTIVITY IN THE YAROSLAVL REGION: ASSESSMENT OF POPULATION AND EXPERTS

Abstract


This article analyzes the pressing issues of civil society in the Yaroslavl region. The article presents the results of sociological research, conducted by telephone survey of residents of the Yaroslavl region, by polling of experts among the employees of state authorities and local self-government of Yaroslavl region, as well as by polling of experts among regional NGO’s leader and employees. The article analyzes the assessment of the public and experts in relation to the institutions of the charity, volunteering, NGOs, public control. According to the research, the opinions of the authorities and NGO`s activists regarding the current state of civil society in the Yaroslavl region and the processes occurring in it, are substantially different. The first talk about the growth activity of citizens, the latter focus attention on the presence in society of destructive processes (inertia, fragmentation). Based on the expert responses can be stated: speaking about the development and maturity of civil society in the Yaroslavl region is prematurely.
